PREGAS Annual Review 2021 by Alexandra Bergerhausen

PREGAS Jahresrückblick

A challenging 2021 is coming to an end. The event industry had to reinvent itself once again due to the effects of the pandemic. Alexandra Bergerhausen, Managing Director of PREGAS GmbH looks back on an eventful year.

Dear MEET GERMANY Community,

This year, as the responsible editor-in-chief of PREGAS.de, I asked myself again almost daily how many more reports we should publish about the Corona pandemic and its effects on the meetings and events industry.

If we look at the bare numbers, articles with this topic achieved the highest click or read rates this year. But we have deliberately decided not to focus too much on the actual pandemic and restrictions such as the lockdown, but on what – despite the difficult situation – interesting topics have emerged from our industry.

One trend of 2021 has of course been digital and hybrid meeting and event formats. In this context, there was a lot to report this year. Among other things, about the introduction of Weframe technology in the conference hotels of the GCH Hotelgroup. Among the successfully implemented hybrid formats this year were the MEET GERMANY SUMMITS, which PREGAS also reported on.

The event industry just doesn’t let itself get down and has once again become creative, and in the summer it was also rewarded for this, so that thanks to low Corona incidence many – also larger – trade fairs, conferences and events could take place again. I was very pleased and encouraged by this.

Full of motivation for the future, 2021 was also used to forge new partnerships. One of these new partnerships is the one between MEET GERMANY and PREGAS, which will officially start in 2022 with many benefits for MEET GERMANY partners. I am very much looking forward to it and wish the readers of MEET GERMANY MAGAZINE a Merry Christmas and a successful start in 2022.

Sincerely yours,
Alexandra Bergerhausen
