Frankfurt Convention Bureau commits to

Frankfurt am Main – April 12, 2021 – Sustainable commitment has been an important part of the work of the Frankfurt Convention Bureau (FCB), a department of the municipal Tourismus+Congress GmbH Frankfurt am Main, since its foundation. At the beginning of 2021, the FCB has now officially joined the sustainability code for the German-speaking event industry “fairpflichtet”.

Back in 2011, Jutta Heinrich’s team received the Green Exhibitor Award for its stand at IMEX Frankfurt. Numerous internal measures in work design, everyday office life and teamwork have been adapted under economic, ecological and social aspects. In congress acquisition and biddings, the FCB pays increased attention to environmental compatibility and also advises partners and clients on the topics of charity and legacy. In order to better assess the needs of event planners, all staff members participated in the German Convention Bureau’s (GCB) sustainability consultant training.

“With the voluntary commitment of the European Association of Event Centers (EVVC) and the GCB, we are now going one step further and also showing the outside world the importance we attach to sustainability,” explains Business Unit Manager Jutta Heinrich.

On their website, the Frankfurt-based company provides comprehensive information on the organization of sustainable and barrier-free events in the Rhine-Main region. The latter is also the subject of the first episode of “MICE am Main,” the FCB podcast. At regular networking events with their congress partners, the hotel industry, locations and other event service providers, solution-oriented work is done on the ecological and social impact of the MICE industry.
